The innovative cages are manufactured using the selective laser melting (SLM) technique. This special manufacturing procedure opens up a new range of possibilities for implant designs and implant properties. It ensures that the implant can be further adapted to the anatomical and pathological situations in the intervertebral spaces being treated. The surface structure also offers the best possible conditions for successful osseointegration.

The active surface improves the interaction between osteoblasts and protein surfaces compared to standard titanium surfaces and has higher fibronectin adsorption in comparison with milled titanium and other types of surfaces.

Another outstanding feature is the grid structure throughout the implant. This structure not only ensures that the implant is extremely stable but it also reduces artefacts when preparing MRI images.
